Welcome to InsideOut Connections, a platform designed to connect incarcerated individuals with people on the outside for communication, support, and visibility.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”), along with our Privacy Policy, form a legally binding agreement (“Agreement”) between InsideOut Connections (“we,” “us,” or “our”) and you, including any individual on whose behalf you create an account (collectively, “you”). This Agreement governs your use of our website, services, and any related platforms (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing or using our Services, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old

  • You have the authority to enter into this Agreement

  • You agree to all Terms outlined below

If you do not agree, you may not use the Services.

Your privacy matters to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information and is incorporated into this Agreement.

2. About InsideOut Connections

What We Do
InsideOut Connections provides a platform for:

  • Inmate profile listings

  • Communication opportunities (pen-pal style connections)

  • Visibility for incarcerated individuals

  • Reintegration awareness and support initiatives

Our mission is to create connection, visibility, and opportunity for those impacted by incarceration.

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not conduct background checks on users or inmates

  • We do not verify all information submitted in profiles

  • We do not provide legal advice, legal referrals, or legal services

  • We are not a dating platform (communication should remain respectful and appropriate)

  • We do not guarantee outcomes such as relationships, support, or opportunities

How We Generate Revenue
We may generate income through:

  • Paid profile listings and subscriptions

  • Advertising partnerships

  • Promotional placements

By using our Services, you agree that advertisements may be displayed and that your activity may be used to personalize your experience.

3. Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older to use the Services.

If you are creating an account for an incarcerated individual, you confirm:

  • You are authorized to act on their behalf

  • All submitted information is accurate

4. Use of Services

License
We grant you a limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use our Services in accordance with these Terms.

You may not:

  • Copy, sell, or exploit any part of the platform

  • Use the platform for unauthorized commercial purposes

Use at Your Own Risk
You are solely responsible for:

  • Your interactions with others

We strongly encourage caution when communicating with individuals you do not know.

Account Responsibility
You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining accurate account information

  • Protecting your login credentials

  • All activity under your account

We reserve the right to:

  • Suspend or terminate accounts

  • Remove content

  • Deny access at our discretion

Content Guidelines
You may submit content such as:

  • Profile descriptions

  • Photos or artwork

  • Personal information

You agree that your content:

  • Is accurate and truthful

  • Does not violate any laws or prison regulations

  • Is not harmful, threatening, defamatory, or inappropriate

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.

Content License
By submitting content, you grant InsideOut Connections a worldwide, royalty-free license to:

  • Display

  • Share

  • Promote

  • Modify (for formatting purposes)

This allows us to operate and promote your listing on the platform.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree NOT to:

  • Provide false or misleading information

  • Create unauthorized accounts

  • Harass, threaten, or exploit others

  • Violate any laws or correctional facility rules

  • Attempt to hack, disrupt, or misuse the platform

  • Use the platform for spam or solicitation

Violation may result in immediate termination.

6. Payments & Subscriptions

Fees
Certain features require payment. By purchasing, you agree to:

  • Pay all fees listed at checkout

  • Provide valid payment information

All payments are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.

Subscriptions
If you enroll in a subscription:

  • You will be billed automatically based on your selected plan

  • Subscriptions renew unless canceled in advance

To cancel, you must do so before your next billing cycle.

7. Third-Party Content

We may display or link to third-party services. We:

  • Do not control or endorse third-party content

  • Are not responsible for any interactions or transactions

Use third-party services at your own risk.

8. Intellectual Property

All platform content (excluding user submissions) belongs to InsideOut Connections.

You may not:

  • Reproduce

  • Use our branding without permission

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for:

  • Violations of these Terms

  • Misuse of the platform

You may also terminate your account at any time.

10. Disputes & Arbitration

Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration, not court proceedings or class actions.

You agree to:

  • Attempt informal resolution first

  • Resolve disputes individually

11. Assumption of Risk

You acknowledge:

  • Use of this platform is at your own risk

  • We are not responsible for user interactions or outcomes

We strongly encourage independent verification of information.

12. Disclaimer of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law:

  • We provide Services “as is”

  • We do not guarantee results or accuracy

  • We are not liable for damages resulting from use of the platform

13. General Terms

  • This Agreement is the full understanding between you and InsideOut Connections

  • If any part is invalid, the rest remains enforceable

  • You may not transfer your account without permission

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform means you accept any changes.
